Teaching Personnel are working closely with a vibrant and inclusive Secondary School located in the heart of Blandford. The School are committed to providing an inspiring and enriching environment for their students, helping them achieve their full potential both academically and personally.

Role Overview: The School are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join their team from September 2024. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining continuity of education for students by supervising classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals considering a career in education or those with experience working with young people.

Start date: September 2024

Contract: Full-time 

Hours: 8.15am - 15.00

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise classes during teacher absences, ensuring students remain on task and follow the lesson plans provided.
  • Manage classroom behaviour in line with the school's policies and procedures.
  • Support students with their learning and respond to any questions or concerns.
  • Provide feedback to the regular classroom teacher on student progress and behaviour.
  • Assist with other administrative tasks and duties as required.

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong classroom management abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively with students aged 11-18.
  • Flexible and adaptable with a positive attitude.
  • Previous experience in an educational setting is desirable but not essential.
  • A genuine interest in supporting the learning and development of young people.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
