We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join a successful Geography department. We are looking for someone who is committed, innovative and solutions focused. There are plenty of opportunities to get involved with extra-curricular activities as well as numerous CPD opportunities both within the department and externally. A passion for Geography is a must as well as a keen desire to continuously develop subject knowledge and pedagogy. You will be well supported by a friendly and knowledgeable team and a fully resourced department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver Geography lessons that cater to the abilities of all students.
  • Monitor and assess students’ progress, providing regular feedback and support to help them achieve their full potential
  • Contribute to the development of the Geography curriculum and participate in departmental meetings.
  • Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning and respect.
  • Engage with parents, guardians, and colleagues to support student success and wellbeing.

About You

You will have Qualified Teacher Status and are a strong classroom practitioner who motivates and inspires students with your passion for Geography. You have the ability to achieve success within a secondary school setting and are able to deliver ‘good’ to ‘outstanding’ lessons. You have good interpersonal skills, sound behaviour management skills and have the highest expectations of yourself and our students.

Contract on offer

The role would involve teaching Geography predominantly to Year 7 - Year 11 GCSE classes (KS3/4). This would be a permanent role for the right person, with a 3 month probation period via our temp to perm programme providing a 12 week period to consider if this is the perfect fit for you. You would be treated as permanent staff from the start of your contract, being involved in all CPD activities and sessions inclusive of that. You would be expected to plan, mark and deliver Geography lessons to your timetabled devised of KS3 and KS4 classes with PPA time included. You must arrive no later than 8:15am and finish at 15:25pm.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
