Geography Teacher 

Location: Gosport, Hampshire 

Contract Type: Full-Time/Permanent 

Start Date: September 2024 

Salary: Competitive, based on experience

The Role: As a Geography Teacher, you will inspire and engage students from Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 5, fostering a passion for the subject and encouraging a deep understanding of the world’s landscapes, peoples, places, and environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality geography lessons that cater to all student abilities.
  • Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of students.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the geography curriculum and related pedagogy.
  • Contribute to the creation of a safe and stimulating learning environment.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, parent evenings, and whole-school training events.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop new curriculum materials and teaching strategies.

Requirements:

  • A recognized teaching qualification (QTS or equivalent).
  • A degree in Geography or a related field.
  • Experience teaching Geography at secondary level is desirable.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development.
  • Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to foster a positive learning environment.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willing to undergo checks).
