Job Title: English and Maths GCSE Intervention Tutor

Location: East of England, Essex, Harlow

Job Type: Temporary, Part-Time

Salary: £20 - £30 Per hour

Job Description:

As an English and Maths GCSE Intervention Tutor based in Harlow, Essex, you will be responsible for providing targeted support to students preparing for their GCSE exams. Your role will primarily involve delivering tailored lessons to help students improve their English and Maths skills and achieve their academic goals.

Job Duties:

  • Plan and deliver engaging English and Maths lessons to GCSE students
  • Assess students' learning needs and create individualised intervention plans
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to help them improve
  • Collaborate with teachers and parents to support students' overall academic development
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance and performance

Required Qualifications:

A relevant teaching qualification

Experience working with GCSE students

Strong knowledge of the English and Maths GCSE curriculum

Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Education or related field
  • Proven experience in tutoring or teaching English and Maths
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to motivate and inspire students
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in delivering intervention programmes

Familiarity with assessment tools and techniques

Working Conditions:

This role is part-time, with flexible hours based on student needs and availability. The work will primarily be conducted in an educational setting, such as a school, learning centre or learners home. Travel within the East of England region may be required.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
