Future Teachers Programme – Secondary Schools, Oldham

Are you a recent graduate or final-year university student considering a career in teaching? Our Future Teachers Programme, in partnership with secondary schools across Oldham, offers an exciting pathway into teaching.

About the Programme: The Future Teachers Programme is designed to give you hands-on experience in the classroom while preparing you for a career in education. This is a paid role that provides a unique opportunity to work as a Cover Supervisor, Teaching Assistant, or Learning Mentor, with a clear route into teacher training.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting teachers in delivering engaging lessons across a variety of subjects.
  • Leading small group sessions or one-to-one interventions with students.
  • Assisting with lesson planning, classroom management, and marking.
  • Gaining experience with SEN (Special Educational Needs) and behaviour management.
  • Observing and learning from experienced teachers to develop your teaching style.

Ideal Candidate:

  • A graduate (or soon-to-be graduate) with a degree in any subject.
  • Passionate about education and considering a future in teaching.
  • Confident, proactive, and able to manage classroom behaviour.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A desire to make a positive impact on students' learning and development.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
