Job description

Functional Skills Tutor

Job Duties:

  • Deliver high-quality teaching and learning sessions to improve functional skills in English, Maths, and ICT
  • Create engaging lesson plans tailored to individual learner needs
  • Assess and track learner progress, providing constructive feedback
  • Support learners to achieve their functional skills qualifications
  • Maintain accurate records of learner attendance, achievements, and any issues
  • Collaborate with other stakeholders to enhance the overall learning experience

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Relevant teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE or equivalent)
  • Specialist qualification in English, Maths, or ICT
  • Demonstrable experience in delivering functional skills training
  • Strong understanding of effective teaching methodologies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to motivate and inspire learners

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
