Job description

Teaching Personnel are working alongside Local Authorities and Virtual Schools to provide support to students in Functional Skills Maths and English. Majority of the students that we support have varying challenges, including behavioural challenges, SEN and looked after children.

 Our goal is to help provide out students with the skills required to succeed later in life. We are looking for dedicated tutors to provide face to face tuition to vulnerable pupils in Northamptonshire and the surrounding areas.

About The Role of a Functional Skills Tutor:

  • Involves working one to one with pupils or within a small group.
  • Flexible hours
  • Plan and deliver your own engaging, tailored sessions.
  • Functional skills and emotional support

What do we look for in our Functional Skills Tutors:

  • Tutors experienced working with students who require emotional support.
  • Ability to plan, produce and deliver sessions in Functional Skills English and Maths
  • SEN experience is desirable as we have a lot of roles come through for children who need additional support.

Requirements:

  • Teaching with QTS or minimum of two years teaching experience
  • Experience working with students with SEMH needs.
  • Safeguarding Training (which can be completed through Teaching Personnel)
  • Valid DBS on the update service (able to apply through Teaching Personnel)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
