Exciting Opportunity: Functional Skills Tutor (SEN Focus) in Further Education

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated Functional Skills Tutor to join our team and support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a dynamic Further Education setting.
About the Role
As a Functional Skills Tutor, you will:
- Deliver engaging and tailored lessons in Maths, and English, focusing on Entry Level to Level 2 qualifications.
- Work closely with students with SEN, including those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, and other learning difficulties.
- Create a nurturing, inclusive, and supportive environment that encourages progress and independence.
- Collaborate with colleagues, SEN specialists, and support staff to develop individualized learning plans.
- Monitor and report on student progress, adapting your approach to ensure every learner achieves their full potential.
What We’re Looking For
To excel in this role, you should have:
- A recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PTLLS, DTLLS, PGCE, or equivalent).
- Experience working with SEN students, preferably in a Further Education or adult learning environment.
- Strong knowledge of Functional Skills curriculum (Maths, English, ICT).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate learners.
- A compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach to teaching.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people (an enhanced DBS check is required).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
