Teaching Personnel have an exciting opportunity to work with an exceptional school based in Durham. The school are looking for a passionate food technology instructor to join there dedicated team.
Responsibilities
- Teaching and assessing students in the assigned subject area, (Preparing for Adulthood, Employability) this will include instruction, problem solving and job seeking skills to prepare the students for progression in education and or work in industry.
- Teaching and assessing students in additional vocational subjects as required (Customer Services and Retail Skills).
- Design and create an engaging and innovative teaching programme to inspire young people to engage in the assigned subject area.
- Produce teaching resources and lesson plans, schemes of work, assessment documentation, reports whilst working both independently and as part of a team.
- Prepare and maintain all records and reports related to assessment, attendance, progress and activities; submit all documents on time.
- Establish and maintain relationships with local employers to develop work place opportunities or possibly to place students at worksites.
- To ensure the effective and efficient management, organisation and purchase of learning resources for your subject area.
- To participate in arrangements for preparing for public examinations or accreditations, and in assessing pupils for the purposes of such examinations/accreditations; recording and reporting such assessments; participating in arrangements for pupils' presentation for, and supervision during examinations.
- Act as a form tutor/key person for a group of students and liaise regularly with parents and professionals
- Write reports regarding the progress of students to a high standard.
- Participate in the Internal Quality Assurance process with Awarding Bodies
Qualifications
- A minimum of two years’ experience working with Post-16 learners
- Relevant teaching qualification or willingness to work towards completing one within two years
- Full driving licence with D1 entitlement (minibus and trailer)
- Development of a vocational curriculum
- Ability to work to deadlines and complete relevant paperwork
- Ability to inspire and engage young people

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
