Family Support Worker

We are seeking an individual who can support our children and families within a Burnley school. The successful candidate will be passionate about making a difference and will be empathetic and supportive.

  • Hours:  Full-time 8:30am – 3:30pm
  • Pay:  £12.90 - £15
  • Location:  Hyndburn

As a Family Support Worker, you will need to:

-          Build strong, trustworthy relationships with colleagues, children and families, building partnerships between school and families.

-          Be prepared to overcome challenges and be pro-active with this.

-          Provide a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment so that children are happy coming to school.

-          Offer advice, guidance and support to children and families.

-          Assist families in accessing local services, filling out paperwork and attending courses.

-          Provide support for social skills, emotional skills and mental health.

-          Work as part of a collaborative team to ensure each child is thought about as an individual.

Requirements:

-          Experience working with and supporting children and families.

-          Be compassionate and understanding.

-          Relevant qualifications in social work, family support or equivalent.

-          Willingness to undertake further training.

-          Enhanced DBS on the update service.

-          An excellent understanding of Safeguarding practices.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
