Do you have experience working in childcare, playgroups, primary schools, or nursery settings? We are currently seeking passionate and dedicated individuals to join our team in the Scarborough area from September.

Role Overview:

Due to high demand from nursery schools seeking both permanent and short-term staff, we need skilled practitioners to support children across various Early Years settings starting this September. If you’re eager to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and make a meaningful impact in early childhood development, Teaching Personnel wants to hear from you!

Who We’re Looking For:

We need forward-thinking, compassionate, and dynamic professionals who thrive on engaging with young children and promoting their learning and attainment. Are you ready to shape the future of children and contribute significantly to their development? This role could be perfect for you!

Qualifications Required:

  • Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Childhood Studies, Education, or a similar relevant qualification.

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Planning and observing Early Years children to support their development and progress.
  • Proficiency with IT-based progression tools, such as iPads, tablets, and computers for recording progress through photos and videos (e.g., Tapestry).
  • Experience in child development through observation and assessment.
  • Personal care skills suited to the nurturing needs of children (varies by setting).
  • Desirable skills include experience in Speech and Language therapy or development, an energetic approach to childcare, a caring and nurturing personality, and skills in speaking and listening observation.
  • A cheerful and engaging personality to match the nursery environment.

The Role:

We collaborate with nurseries and EYFS settings across Scarborough, as well as nearby areas such as Whitby, Pickering, Filey, and Malton. Access to transport is preferred, and good availability is required for both planned and short-notice bookings.

In this role, you will work with small groups of children or as part of a team supporting larger groups. You’ll engage children in daily activities designed to foster development, monitor progress, and plan accordingly. Basic behaviour management skills are needed to maintain a positive learning environment. Your caring and enthusiastic approach will ensure children feel safe, valued, and included.

If you have the skills and experience, there may also be opportunities for 1:1 support with children who have SEN needs.
