An extraordinary provision in the Nailsea area who are dedicated to building trusting relationships with 12 girls who have faced immense trauma and struggle with navigating life are looking for a deeply understanding and resilient Teaching Assistant.
This school has a unique style as it’s a converted house in a cul-de-sac, giving a comfortable, homely feel. Their emphasis lies not only on academic achievement but also on nurturing the personal growth of each student, so you’ll often find yourself outside the classroom on a beach or in a coffee shop.
Position details:
- Immediate start in October till the end of the academic year with a potential contract.
- Hours are 8:30am – 4:30pm Monday to Thursday, with a 12:30pm finish on Fridays – (term time only).
- 2 hours of daily planning, no lunch or playground duties and requires no marking
- Enhanced TA rate of £100+/ day. Paid weekly
The girls aged 11 – 18, follow an individual education and care plan working to their level of learning. The school’s ethos is to repair and connect, they’re not focused on sanctions and the ‘behaviourist approach’, but rather the holistic approach. They prioritise their attention on being a supportive, positive role model and confidante for their students as they help guide them to become a confident version of themselves.
The successful Teaching Assistant will:
- Be able to drive as the school is in the BS21 (Clevedon) area
- Be confident working with children who exhibit challenging behaviour
- Look forward to making everyday exciting in the classroom and making a safe space for the students.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
