Are you an English specialist looking for a new role in November/December 2024?

Does  working one-to-one with children outside of mainstream schools intrigue you?

Here at TP Tutors we are looking for a specialist English tutor to join the team. This English tutor role will be ideal if you have previous experience of teaching, teaching assistant, SEN one-to-one or tutoring and are looking for some flexible work. It will be based working with primary or secondary pupils in the Hucknall (NG15) area.

This English tutor role involves:

-          Working with children potentially with Special Education Needs who need to provide face to face support to children with ASD, SEMH or PMLD at their homes, care homes or a local area e.g., library which can be agreed with the parents/ carers.

-          Working with pupils who may be in care but need extra tuition support (No SEN)

-          Planning resources around the child’s needs, this could be on developing their knowledge in English.

-          Skills and experience on keeping the child engaged with task and ensuring they can access the learning.

-          Managing behaviour and implementing a range of behaviour strategies.

If you are looking to enhance your skills and experience this will be great to add to your CV. The English tutor roles are based in the Hucknall (NG15) area and can be accessed by road, bus and tram.

What we are looking for in English tutor:

  • SEN experience (as teaching assistant, one-to-one or any other)
  • Able to plan and deliver engaging, nurturing sessions.
  • Applying skills to raise pupils’ confidence and learning.
  • Experience with working with children with challenging behaviour.
  • Checking that pupils are on track to achieve their desired learning outcomes and being able to provide feedback.

To be successful in your application, you must be able to provide evidence of this as skills and experience.

Please be aware that all applicants will be subject to background checks and will need a current DBS certificate (update service registered). Teaching Personnel can support your application should this be required.

Working hours are between Monday to Friday, 09:00 -16:00 approximately.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
