Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated English lessons to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students
  • Foster a love for literature, language, and communication in students
  • Assess and monitor students’ progress and provide constructive feedback to help them achieve their targets
  • Use a variety of teaching strategies to cater to different learning styles and abilities
  • Work closely with the English department to develop creative teaching resources
  • Contribute to the wider school community, including extra-curricular activities and initiatives
  • Maintain high expectations for student behaviour and performance

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • A degree in English or a closely related subject
  • Experience teaching English at secondary school level, ideally with a proven track record of student progress
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills
  • Passionate about teaching and committed to inspiring young people
  • A current enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one)
