Job Title: English Teacher

Location: Slough

Job Type: Permanent, expected to work full-time hours

Primary Industry: Education and Training

Salary: £140 - £180 per day

Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), Early Career Teacher (ECT), Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE)

Skills: Adaptable, Classroom Management, Resilience

Job Duties:

  • Plan and deliver engaging English lessons to students
  • Assess and monitor student progress
  • Manage classroom behaviour and create a positive learning environment
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum and teaching materials
  • Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers regarding student performance

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Early Career Teacher (ECT)
  • Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE)

Education:

A degree in English or a related field

Experience:

Prior experience teaching English in a secondary school setting

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of the English curriculum
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Effective classroom management skills
  • Resilience and the ability to handle challenging situations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional certifications in teaching English as a second language
  • Experience working with students with special educational needs

Working Conditions:

The role involves working full-time hours in a secondary school environment in Slough. The teacher may need to work evenings or weekends for school events or parent meetings.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
