Job description

We are looking for a passionate and committed full-time English Teacher to join our team starting in October 2024. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and inspiring English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the opportunity to teach A-levels. You will be instrumental in helping students develop their reading, writing, and analytical skills, fostering a deep appreciation for literature and language.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality English lessons in line with the national curriculum.
  • Inspire and challenge students to achieve their full potential in reading, writing, and critical analysis.
  • Assess and track student progress, providing regular feedback to support their learning journey.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and participation.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement innovative teaching strategies.
  • Participate actively in school life, including parent evenings, extracurricular activities, and continuous professional development.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK.
  • A degree in English, English Literature, or a related field.
  • Experience teaching English at secondary level, with a strong understanding of the GCSE curriculum.
  • Excellent communication skills and a passion for literature and language.
  • A commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Enthusiasm for working as part of a collaborative and dynamic team.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
