Job description

Teaching Personnel is seeking a passionate and skilled English Tutor to support students in developing their reading, writing, and comprehension skills. If you have a love for language and literature and the ability to inspire students to achieve their best, we’d love to hear from you!

As an English Tutor, you will work with students of various ages and abilities, helping them to excel in both the technical and creative aspects of English. Whether supporting them with their grammar, essay writing, or preparation for exams, you’ll play a vital role in boosting their confidence and academic performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 or group tutoring sessions in English (Key Stage 3, 4, and/or 5).
  • Develop personalised lesson plans to meet the specific needs of each student.
  • Help students improve their reading, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Prepare students for assessments, exams, and coursework.
  • Monitor and report on student progress, making adjustments to ensure continuous improvement.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Strong knowledge of the English curriculum, including literature and language.
  • Previous experience in tutoring, teaching, or related roles.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to motivate and engage students.
  • A patient, encouraging approach to help students build their confidence.
  • A passion for helping students develop a deeper understanding of English.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
