English Teacher

Teaching Personnel are working alongside a school in Newport to recruit an English Teacher. The successful candidate would be working in a flourishing English department. The school pushes its pupils to achieve the very best academic standards in all its subject areas. Ideally the candidate would have a minimum of one year’s teaching experience, but newly qualified teachers will also be considered.

The school is located near Tredegar park and has great transport links from the M4.

The role will involve teaching Key stage 3,4 and 5 in a full-time position.

The hours are from 8.30am – 3pm.

The pay rates for the role are between £166.32 - £220 per day.

Start date will be the 6th Jan or ASAP

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver effective English language lessons, ensuring adherence to the curriculum guidelines.
  • Create engaging and interactive learning materials to support students' language development.
  • Facilitate classroom discussions and activities that promote effective communication and critical thinking skills.
  • Assess students' language proficiency and provide constructive feedback to support their progress.
  • Implement appropriate teaching strategies and techniques to cater to students' diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Maintain accurate records of students' attendance, grades, and performance.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and improve the English language curriculum.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and professional development activities.
  • Establish and maintain open communication with students, parents, and school staff.
  • Collaborate with the children to ensure full engagement and success.

Requirements

  • Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Check (DBS)
  • Qualified teacher status
  • 2 references
  • Proof of right to work in the UK.
  • Educational workforce council registered
