English Teacher

We are working closely with a Secondary School in Milton Keynes to recruit an English Teacher to start January 2025. 

  • Location: Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire
  • Start date: January 2025 - happy to start earlier in December if possible
  • Contract: Full-time,Temp to Perm
  • Pay: £143-211 (MPS1 - UPS1 for Qualified Teachers), paid as a daily rate equivalent through us then salary directly offered with school if taken on permanently

The role would involve teaching English GCSE and some A level ideally across Year 7 to Year 13, delivering the English syllabus. This position would be best for an experienced Qualified English Teacher who would be happy to commit full-time until Christmas or to a long-term contract/looking for their next permanent role.

Could this be you? Do you demonstrate:

  • PGCE Qualification specialising in English or subject in the related field
  • Excellent knowledge of English GCSE,  and A Level syllabus would be desirable
  • Excellent understanding of teaching Secondary age pupils 
  • A 'can do' and positive attitude to inspire pupils
  • An ability to motivate and inspire, whilst using your own initiative 
  • Passion for English Literature and Language
  • Willingness to learn and support others
  • Patient and friendly attitude 
  • High levels of resilience and emotional intelligence.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Planning English Language and Literature lessons to suit the individual needs of the students and group
  • Teaching KS3 and KS4 pupils to analyse texts, poetry, creative writing, books,
  • Prepare students for GCSE and potentially some A Level English exams
  • Set assignments, mark and assess students' work
