English Teacher – Secondary School in Southampton
Location: Southampton
Salary: £30,000 - £46,525 per annum (dependent on experience)
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
Start Date: January 2024
A leading secondary school in Southampton is searching for a passionate English Teacher to join their team. This role offers the chance to make a significant impact on students’ literacy, communication, and critical thinking skills.
The Role
As an English Teacher, you will:
- Teach English at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with the possibility of Key Stage 5.
- Plan and deliver lessons that engage students in the study of literature, language, and writing.
- Prepare students for GCSE exams and support them in achieving their academic potential.
- Create an inclusive classroom environment that encourages creativity and independent thinking.
- Contribute to the development of the English curriculum and take part in extra-curricular activities such as book clubs or drama productions.

Requirements
- A recognised UK teaching qualification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent).
- Experience teaching English at secondary level.
- A passion for literature and the ability to inspire students to enjoy reading and writing.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
