Position: SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Stockport, Greater Manchester

Start Date: ASAP

Salary: up to £550 per week.

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant mainstream secondary school in Stockport. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting students with special educational needs (SEN) within the classroom environment. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people and have experience working with students who require additional support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one support to students with SEN, helping them to engage with their learning and achieve their academic goals.
  • Assist teachers in planning and delivering tailored lessons that accommodate the diverse needs of all students.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers regarding individual learning plans.
  • Foster an inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation from all students.
  • Support students during breaks and transitions between classes, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Collaborate with parents, teachers, and external agencies to develop effective strategies for supporting students with SEN.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • Previous experience working as a teaching assistant or in a similar role, particularly with SEN students.
  • A relevant qualification such as Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant Certificate or equivalent is desirable.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with students, staff, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help young people succeed academically and socially.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being able to take initiative when necessary.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
