Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for English Graduates to join one of our client schools in Tameside as Teaching Assistants.
This position will be full-time, starting ASAP.
This position would be ideal for a recent graduate, looking to gain experience in education because:
- You will be supported by Teaching Personnel, the UK’s leading teaching recruitment agency. For the right candidates, there will be the opportunity for progression into teaching positions once you have become fully qualified.
- The salary for this position is between £420 and £450 per week, dependent on experience and requirements.
- You will have the opportunity to gain experience within a school environment, gaining confidence for when you go onto a teacher role.
The day-to-day responsibilities of this position will include:
- Working with students in small groups or on a one-to-one basis to target the learning needs of the pupils who are struggling the most with their English.
- Assisting the teacher in their preparation and delivery of lessons, you will also have to help the teacher in behaviour management to ensure that there is always a safe and productive learning environment.
- Assessing the progress of pupils, being able to think of ways to support them in their learning as needed.
- Ensuring that all safeguarding procedures are being followed correctly and that any issues are dealt with in an appropriate manner.
This school currently has a ‘good’ Ofsted rating. It is a mixed secondary school. This school is in Tameside, it is easy to commute to from the surrounding areas of Ashton-Under-Lyne, Dukinfield and Openshaw on public transport or by car.
If successful, you will be required to apply for a fully enhanced DBS check, as well as provide at least two employment-based references.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
