English Graduate Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for English Graduates to join one of our client schools in Tameside as Teaching Assistants.

This position will be full-time, starting ASAP.

This position would be ideal for a recent graduate, looking to gain experience in education because:

• The salary for this position is between £420 and £450 per week, dependent on experience and requirements.
• You will have the opportunity to gain experience within a school environment, gaining confidence for when you go onto a teacher role.

The day-to-day responsibilities of this position will include:

• Working with students in small groups or on a one-to-one basis to target the learning needs of the pupils who are struggling the most with their English.
• Assisting the teacher in their preparation and delivery of lessons, you will also have to help the teacher in behaviour management to ensure that there is always a safe and productive learning environment.
• Assessing the progress of pupils, being able to think of ways to support them in their learning as needed.
• Ensuring that all safeguarding procedures are being followed correctly and that any issues are dealt with in an appropriate manner.

This school currently has a ‘good’ Ofsted rating. It is a mixed secondary school. This school is in Tameside, it is easy to commute to from the surrounding areas of Ashton-Under-Lyne, Dukinfield and Openshaw on public transport or by car.

If successful, you will be required to apply for a fully enhanced DBS check, as well as provide at least two employment-based references.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
