English Graduate Teaching Assistant -

Overview of position:

  • Location: Stockport.
  • Wage: £400 - £500 per week dependant on experience.
  • A degree in English or a related subject.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A passion for teaching and working with young people.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Previous experience working in a school setting is desirable but not essential.

Teaching Personnel are currently working alongside a Secondary school in the Romiley area that seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic English Graduate Teaching Assistant to join the team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the English department in delivering high-quality education to students aged 11-16.

The role in hand allows for a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious graduate looking to gain valuable experience in the education sector. The position is full-time and pays between £350 - £450 per week, depending on the candidate’s experience.

Within the position the successful applicant will have several roles and responsibilities. Firstly, they would support the English department by assisting teachers in planning and delivering lessons, grading papers, and providing feedback to students. They may also be responsible for leading small group discussions or working one-on-one with students who require extra help.

In addition to supporting the English department, TAs may also be involved in other areas of school life. For example, they may assist with extracurricular activities such as drama productions or writing clubs. They may also help with administrative tasks such as organizing school events or maintaining student records.

Another important role of an English graduate TA is to act as a role model and mentor for students. They can provide guidance and support to students who are struggling academically or personally. They can also help to create a positive learning environment by fostering a sense of community and encouraging students to work together.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
