English Graduate Teaching Assistant Position Available in Stockport
Teaching Personnel is seeking a passionate and dedicated English Graduate Teaching Assistant to join an Ofsted-rated 'Good' secondary school in Stockport. This full-time position starts ASAP and will continue until the end of the academic year, with the potential for a permanent role based on performance. The role offers a competitive weekly pay range of £419.25 - £500.
Role Overview:
As an English Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will be instrumental in supporting the academic and personal development of students in English. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Classroom Support: Assisting English teachers with classroom activities, including preparing materials, supporting lesson delivery, and managing classroom behaviour.
- One-on-One Assistance: Providing tailored support to individual students, particularly those needing extra help with their English studies.
- Small Group Work: Leading small group sessions to reinforce English concepts and address specific educational needs.
- Resource Preparation: Helping to prepare teaching materials and resources to enhance the learning experience in English.
- Student Mentoring: Offering guidance and mentoring to students, fostering a positive and encouraging learning environment.
- Assessment Support: Assisting with the assessment of student work in English, providing feedback, and helping to track progress.
- Behaviour Management: Supporting the implementation of the school's behaviour policy, helping to maintain a positive and safe learning environment.
- Extra-Curricular Activities: Participating in and supporting extra-curricular activities, encouraging student engagement beyond the classroom.
- Administrative Duties: Assisting with administrative tasks related to classroom management and student records.
Requirements:
- A degree in English or a related field, demonstrating a strong academic background.
- A genuine interest in education and a desire to support student learning in English.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- A proactive and flexible approach to work, with the ability to adapt to different classroom environments.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- A commitment to promoting and safeguarding the welfare of students.
- Previous experience working with young people or in an educational setting is desirable but not essential.
