Job description

Job Title: English and Maths KS3 SEMH Tutor

Location: England, Greater London, Dagenham

Job Type: Temporary, Part-Time

Primary Industry: Education and Training

Salary: £20 - £30 Per hour

Job Duties:

  • Deliver engaging English and Maths lessons tailored to KS3 students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • Assess students' learning needs and develop individualised learning plans
  • Provide academic support and guidance to help students achieve their educational goals
  • Monitor and track student progress, adjusting teaching methods as necessary
  • Collaborate with school staff and parents to support students' overall development

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Specialist knowledge in teaching English and Maths at KS3 level
  • Experience working with students with SEMH needs

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or related field

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in a similar role

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong understanding of SEMH and its impact on learning
  • Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Effective classroom management techniques

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate qualification in Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • Training in behaviour management strategies

Working Conditions:

  • Part-time hours, flexible schedule
  • Work in a school setting with students with SEMH needs
  • Potential for remote teaching if required

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
