Job Description: English and Maths KS3 LAC Tutor

Location:

England, Greater London, Ilford

Job Duties:

  • Provide tailored English and Maths tutoring to Key Stage 3 Looked After Children (LAC)
  • Create engaging lesson plans to support individual learning needs
  • Monitor and assess student progress regularly
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and stakeholders
  • Adhere to safeguarding and child protection policies

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience working with Looked After Children
  • Enhanced DBS check

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Education or related field

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years' experience in teaching English and Maths at Key Stage 3 level

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of the national curriculum and assessment frameworks
  • Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate qualification in Education
  • Training in Special Educational Needs (SEN)

Working Conditions:

  • Work primarily in a school or home setting
  • May require travel to different locations within Greater London
  • Flexible working hours based on student needs

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
