About the Role:

As an SEN EYFS Practitioner, you will play an essential role in supporting children in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) who have additional learning needs. You’ll work closely with class teachers, the SENCO, and other support staff to create an inclusive, safe, and engaging learning environment for the children in your care. Your role will include providing 1:1 support and small group interventions, helping children with their emotional, social, and academic development.

You will be instrumental in supporting children with a range of needs, including Autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and developmental delays. Your nurturing approach and creativity will help ensure that every child feels supported and encouraged in their early learning journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 and small group support for children with SEN in the EYFS.
  • Assist the class teacher in implementing tailored learning plans and interventions.
  • Help children engage with sensory, social, and educational activities to promote development.
  • Support children with their communication, language, and personal development needs.
  • Use positive behaviour management techniques to support children’s emotional and social growth.
  • Build strong, supportive relationships with pupils, encouraging independence and confidence.
  • Work closely with parents/carers and the wider school team to ensure the needs of the children are being met.
  • Monitor and record pupil progress, reporting to the SENCO and class teacher regularly.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience working in an EYFS setting with children who have SEN (school or nursery-based experience preferred).
  • A patient, caring, and positive attitude with a passion for supporting young children.
  • Strong understanding of child development and the EYFS framework.
  • The ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff members.
  • A proactive, creative approach to meeting the individual needs of children with SEN.
  • Relevant qualifications in Early Years or SEN (e.g., Level 2/3 in Early Years, SEND, or equivalent) are advantageous but not essential.
  • A commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of all children.

Why Work with Teaching Personnel?

  • Competitive weekly pay, paid via PAYE.
  • Dedicated support from your personal consultant.
  • Access to a range of CPD opportunities, including training in SEN, safeguarding, and early childhood development.
  • The chance to work in a supportive and caring school environment with the possibility of securing a permanent role.
  • The rewarding opportunity to make a significant impact on children’s early learning experiences.

If you are passionate about working with young children with SEN and have the experience and skills to help them thrive, we encourage you to apply today.
