Design & Technology Teacher

Location: Pontypridd, South Wales
Salary: Pay to scale, dependent on experience
Contract: Full-time, Temporary (until January 2025)

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Design & Technology Teacher to support a dynamic team at a well-respected secondary school in Pontypridd, South Wales. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire and develop students' skills in a range of design and technology disciplines, helping them to become creative thinkers and problem solvers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Design & Technology across Key Stages 3 and 4, with a focus on KS4 coursework.
  • Develop engaging and innovative lessons that cater to a range of abilities and interests.
  • Encourage practical, hands-on learning in workshops and classrooms.
  • Promote critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration among students.
  • Prepare students for assessments, including coursework and practical exams.
  • Work closely with colleagues to enhance the department’s curriculum and resources.

Requirements:

  • A relevant degree and QTS (Qualified Teacher Status).
  • A strong subject knowledge of Design & Technology (specialism in product design, resistant materials, or graphics is desirable).
  • Experience teaching in secondary education, preferably in the UK.
  • An enhanced DBS.
  • A commitment to fostering a positive learning environment and encouraging student achievement.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
