Job description

Inspire Young Lives as a Day-to-Day SEN Cover Teacher – QTS Required (Salford, M30)

Are you a passionate Qualified Teacher looking to make a difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? Do you thrive in dynamic, supportive environments where no two days are the same?

An exciting opportunity has opened for a Day-to-Day Cover Teacher at a specialist SEN school in Salford (M30). You’ll work with secondary-age pupils (11-16) who have a range of complex needs, including Autism, physical disabilities, and other learning challenges. In this role, you’ll provide essential support, ensuring continuity in learning and engagement when the regular class teacher is absent.

In this setting, students work on a much more individualised curriculum, with a blend of core subjects (English, Maths, etc.) and important life skills and social development activities. The school places a strong emphasis on play-based, exploratory learning, with each student’s Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP) guiding their personalised education.

Your Role:

  • Provide engaging, flexible cover teaching, adapting lessons to meet the unique needs of SEN pupils.
  • Support students in their education and development using creative and dynamic approaches to learning.
  • Focus on building life skills, communication, and social interaction in line with the school's ethos.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
  • A genuine passion for supporting SEN pupils.
  • While experience in a specialist SEN setting is a plus, a strong commitment to supporting vulnerable students is what matters most.
  • Suitable references and a valid DBS certificate (or willingness to apply).

This flexible role offers an excellent opportunity to expand your teaching experience within a specialist SEN environment while making a real impact on young lives.
