Job description

Overview:

A school within the Tameside area are looking to appoint a Cover Supervisor to help deliver a range of different lessons within a secondary school setting. The position is available as soon as possible for the suitable candidate.

  • Year groups: KS3 + KS4

  • Role: Cover supervisor
  • Start date: ASAP

The role in hand:

With the Cover Supervisor role, they’ll be a range of different responsibilities that the successful applicant will need to carry out within the classroom:

  • Deliver pre set lessons to students in year 7 – 11.
  • Support pupils within their learning and development.
  • Maintain a strong level of behaviour management within the lesson.
  • Help to ensure pupils work to the best possible standard.
  • Work through a range of learning materials with the set groups.

The ideal candidate:

It’s important for the school that applicant has the correct attributes to deliver a high standard of lessons, allowing for the children to continue towards their targeted levels within the certain topics.

Experience within a secondary school setting is not completely essential but would be ideal. Anyone who has the following transferable skills, could prove to be a valuable asset:

  • Strong communication skills.
  • Experience having to manage behaviour.
  • Patient and calm approach to situations.
  • Experience with SEN or SEMH children.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
