Cover Supervisor Job Description

Location: South East England, Oxfordshire, Oxford

Job Type: Contract, expected to work Full-Time hours

Salary: £90 - £110 Per day

Job Duties:

The Cover Supervisor will be responsible for supervising students in the absence of their regular teacher. Duties include managing the classroom environment, ensuring student behaviour is appropriate, delivering pre-prepared work, and following school policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications:

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage a classroom setting

Education:

A minimum of GCSEs or equivalent in English and Mathematics is required. Additional qualifications in education or related fields are desirable.

Experience:

Prior experience working in a school or educational setting is advantageous but not essential. Training will be provided.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of classroom management techniques
  • Basic knowledge of the education system
  • Excellent organisational skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Higher education qualifications in a relevant field
  • Previous experience working with young people

Working Conditions:

The role involves working full-time hours on a contract basis in an educational setting. The Cover Supervisor will interact with students, teachers, and school staff on a daily basis.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
