Location: Secondary Schools across South Manchester

Type: Full-time / Part-time, Temporary

Start Date: Immediate

Salary: Competitive, depending on experience

About the Role:

Teaching Personnel is currently seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Cover Supervisors / Unqualified Teachers to join our team and work in a variety of secondary schools across South Manchester. As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising students in the absence of their regular class teacher, ensuring they remain engaged with their learning and manage classroom behaviour effectively. This role is perfect for someone considering a career in education or looking for flexible, rewarding work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage students in the classroom, ensuring that work left by the absent teacher is completed.
  • Support students in their learning and encourage participation in class activities.
  • Maintain a positive and safe learning environment.
  • Ensure classroom behaviour is managed effectively and in line with school policies.
  • Provide feedback to the class teacher on student progress and behaviour
  • Support the teacher in preparing resources and administrative tasks as required.

Key Requirements:

  • A passion for working with young people and supporting their development.
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills.
  • Ability to adapt to different school environments and age groups.
  • Experience in a classroom or working with children (desirable, but not essential).
  • A flexible and proactive approach to work.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • A minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths (or equivalent).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
