Job description

Teaching Personnel is an education recruitment agency that prides itself in helping people finding the the right role within the education sector. Currently we are recruiting for cover supervsiors looking for flexible day to day work within multiple secondary schools in the Loughborough area. A driving license is preferred for the role due to the nature of the work. The role will be leading clasrooms of around 15-30 students at secondary school age covering a variety of subjects. Being confident in your ability to lead lessons and manage behaviour is essential to success within the role along with being professional and approachable. Lesson plans will be provided.

Job Descirption 

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing classes in the absence of the regular teacher. Your primary role will be to manage the classroom, ensuring a positive learning environment and promoting good behaviour among students. Key duties include:

  • Supervising students during lesson times
  • Delivering pre-prepared work left by the teacher
  • Ensuring all students are on task and engaged in their learning
  • Managing classroom behaviour and promoting a positive atmosphere
  • Reporting back on student behaviour and any issues to the appropriate staff

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Strong classroom management skills
  • Ability to effectively manage student behaviour
  • Confidence in your ability to deliver prepared lessons and lead a classroom
  • A good understanding of classroom dynamics
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to adapt to different classroom environments

Education & Experience 

  • Minimum GCSE or equivalent in English & Maths 
  • Education/subject expertise preferred but not essential
  • Teaching Assistant qualification preferred

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
