Role: Teacher of Computer Science

A highly regarded secondary school in Southwark, rated GOOD by Ofsted, is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Teacher of Science to join their permanent teaching staff starting in January 2025. The Science Department is well-resourced and offers a broad and balanced curriculum, with a commitment to inspiring curiosity and achievement in students across KS3 to KS5. Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging and challenging lessons across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and potentially Key Stage 5.
- Contribute to the development of innovative teaching practices within the Science Department.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback to support academic achievement.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain high standards of teaching and learning.
- Support the school’s commitment to extracurricular science activities and enrichment programs.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a specialism in Science.
- A passion for teaching and an in-depth knowledge of the Science curriculum, including Biology, Chemistry, or Physics.
- Experience in teaching Science at secondary level, with evidence of good to outstanding classroom practice.
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive learning environment.
- Excellent communication skills, with a commitment to working collaboratively with colleagues, students, and parents.
- A desire to contribute to the wider life of the school, including extracurricular activities.
- A genuine commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students.
Desirable:
- Experience teaching Science at A-level (Key Stage 5) would be an advantage but is not essential.
- A proven track record of helping students achieve strong academic results.
- Enthusiasm for ongoing professional development and willingness to embrace new teaching methods.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
