Classroom Support Assistant
Location: Newport.
Start date: Monday 23rd September 2024.
Pay: £12.90 per hour (minimum).

A full-time opportunity has arisen in a friendly and successful secondary school within the Newport area. The support team are seeking a resilient, caring and driven individual to join their team supporting pupils with additional learning needs.
Important information:
- 1. Experience with additional learning needs is applicable.
- 2. An understanding of ASD, Autism and learning needs is paramount for this position.
- 3. The role is term time only.
- 4. Full-time – Monday to Friday 08:20am-15:20pm.
More about the role:
- Assisting pupils aged 11-16 with learning difficulties.
- Offering interventions with their literacy and numeracy skills.
- Building on the pupils lifeskills and developing them for adult life.
- Working alongside the subject teachers across a range of subjects.
- Managing disruptive and challenging behaviour.
Development opportunities:
- During the vetting process you will complete safeguarding and prevent training.
- Training on the job will be offered during school inset days.
- Career development is highly desirable within this school.
- CPD Academy courses are offered by Teaching Personnel throughout your placement.
Vetting requirements:
- You will need an enhanced DBS on the update service.
- Registration onto the Education Workforce Council (EWC).
- References will be obtained.
Teaching Personnel will assist you with your vetting and offering support throughout your placement at the school.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
