Teaching Personnel are seeking an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to work across a diverse range of schools in Bristol, offering academic, social and emotional support to young people whilst gaining invaluable skills in a competitive job market.

Job Duties:

  • Provide support to secondary school students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in their academic and personal development
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning plans for SEN students
  • Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Support students in accessing the curriculum and engaging with learning activities
  • Monitor and record student progress and behaviour

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths
  • Genuine passion for supporting young people
  • Knowledge of SEN strategies and support techniques (or willingness to learn)

Education:

Relevant qualification in Education or Special Educational Needs (SEN) is desirable.

Experience:

Prior experience working in a school setting or with SEN students is advantageous.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of SEN support methods
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a team
  • Patience and empathy towards students with SEN

Working Conditions:

  • Work primarily within secondary school settings
  • School term time schedule, Mon - Fri, 8.30am - 3.30pm
  • Collaborate closely with teaching staff and SEN coordinators
  • Opportunity for professional development and training

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
