Job Title: SEN Support Worker – Specialising in Hearing Impairment
Location: Bradford (Various Enhanced Provisions and Home Settings)

About the Role:
Teaching Personnel, a leading education recruitment agency, is seeking experienced SEN Support Workers to work on our behalf with children who have hearing impairments. These roles involve supporting pupils across various SEN schools, enhanced provisions, and home settings in Bradford. As a representative of Teaching Personnel, you will play a crucial part in ensuring that children with hearing impairments receive the tailored support they need to thrive in their education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialist support to pupils with hearing impairments, ensuring their individual educational needs are met
  • Work in a range of settings, including SEN schools and pupils' homes, on behalf of Teaching Personnel
  • Use aids and technologies, such as hearing devices, to support learning
  • Implement and adapt teaching strategies to suit individual needs, promoting academic and social development
  • Communicate effectively using British Sign Language (BSL) or other appropriate communication methods
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to create an inclusive learning environment
  • Monitor progress and provide feedback to both staff and families

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Experience working with children with hearing impairments in an educational setting
  • Knowledge of and proficiency in British Sign Language (BSL) is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with assistive technology and hearing aids for hearing-impaired children
  • Strong communication skills, particularly in working with children who have hearing impairments
  • Compassion, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting children with SEN
  • Ability to work independently in a variety of settings, representing Teaching Personnel in a professional manner

Essential Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with SEN pupils, particularly those with hearing impairments
  • Willingness to undergo relevant training and development
  • Enhanced DBS check and professional references
