Are you passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of young people? Do you have experience working with children who face challenges in mainstream education? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you!

We are seeking a Behavioural Support Assistant to join a dedicated team at an alternative provision school in the Wirral area. The students require extra support to reach their full potential, and we are looking for someone who can help them navigate their educational journey with patience, empathy, and a calm, supportive approach.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and group support to students with behavioural difficulties and additional needs.
  • Assist in the development of tailored strategies to de-escalate challenging behaviour.
  • Support students in both academic and social development, ensuring they stay on track to achieve their goals.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff and other professionals to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  • Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and assist students in achieving their personal learning objectives.
  • Maintain a safe, respectful, and caring environment for all students.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience working in the education sector, particularly with children who have struggled in mainstream schools.
  • Familiarity with supporting children who have special educational needs (SEN), such as ADHD, Autism, or other learning and behavioural challenges.
  • Strong skills in de-escalating challenging situations and managing behaviour in a compassionate manner.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A calm, empathetic, and patient approach to working with students who may display challenging behaviours.
  • A commitment to helping every student achieve to the best of their ability.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
