Location: Secondary SEMH School, Blackpool.
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience.
Contract: Full-time, temporary.
Teaching Personnel are working closesly with an inclusive secondary SEMH school based in Blackpool. The school is dedicated to providing a safe, engaging, and positive learning environment for students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs. Their mission is to support each student’s journey towards achieving their full potential, socially, emotionally, and academically.
As a Behaviour Support Worker, you will play a vital role in helping students navigate challenges, develop coping skills, and achieve their goals. You will work closely with teaching staff, support staff, and families to create strategies and interventions that encourage positive behavior and personal growth.
Key Duties:
- Support students in overcoming barriers to learning and development, helping them build resilience and confidence.
- Implement behavior management strategies tailored to individual needs, including de-escalation techniques and positive reinforcement.
- Provide one-to-one and small group interventions, focusing on building students’ emotional well-being and social skills.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and external agencies to develop and implement individualized support plans.
- Monitor and report on students’ progress, adapting interventions as necessary.
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and positive environment within the school.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience working with young people or adults with SEMH needs, not necessarily in an educational setting.
- Strong understanding of behavior management techniques and approaches.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and resilience, with a passion for supporting students’ well-being and development.
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
- Relevant qualifications in education, social work, or related fields (desirable but not essential).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
