Job description

Behaviour Support Assistant – January 2025 Start

Teaching Personnel is seeking a Behaviour Support Assistant to join a secondary school in Wigan from January 2025. You will provide one-to-one support for a female student requiring wheelchair assistance, who may display disengagement and challenging behaviour.

This is an excellent role for someone with previous experience working in care or with children who display challenging behaviour.

Key Details:

  • Position: Behaviour Support Assistant
  • Start Date: January 2025
  • Hours: Full-time
  • Pay rate starting at: £100 per day
  • Contract: Potential progression to a permanent role after a trial period

Requirements:

  • Experience working with students aged 11–16 in a behaviour support role.
  • Strong interpersonal and behaviour management skills.
  • A calm and patient approach to building rapport and managing challenges.
  • DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
