We are currently seeking a passionate and committed Behaviour Support Assistant to join a secondary school in Manchester. This role is vital in supporting students with their emotional and behavioral needs, ensuring they can thrive in an educational environment.
Role Overview:
As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other support staff to implement strategies that promote positive behaviour among students. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Supporting Students: Provide one-on-one or small group support to students exhibiting challenging behaviours, helping them develop coping strategies and improve their social skills.
- Behaviour Management: Assist in the development and implementation of individualised behaviour plans tailored to meet the specific needs of students.
- Monitoring Progress: Track and report on student progress, collaborating with teachers to adjust strategies as necessary.
- Creating a Positive Environment: Foster a safe and inclusive classroom atmosphere where all students feel valued and respected.
- Collaboration with Staff: Work alongside teaching staff, special educational needs coordinators (SENCOs), and parents to ensure consistent approaches to behaviour management.
Qualifications:
- Experience working with children or young people in an educational setting is preferred.
- A background in psychology, education, or related fields is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with students.
- Patience, empathy, and resilience when dealing with challenging situations.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
