Job Description:
As a Behaviour Mentor Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students who display challenging behaviour, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. You will work closely with teaching staff, other support staff, and external agencies to implement behaviour management strategies and create a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with behavioural difficulties on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.
  • Assist in developing and implementing individual behaviour plans.
  • Work closely with class teachers to monitor and record student progress.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and promote self-esteem and confidence in students.
  • Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies to support student development.
  • Support the development of social and emotional skills in students.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people in a similar role, ideally within an educational setting.
  • Understanding of behaviour management techniques and strategies.
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience in challenging situations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Enhanced DBS and on the update service (or willingness to apply for one)

Desirable:

  • Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or behaviour management.
  • Experience working with SEN (Special Educational Needs) students.
  • Knowledge of the local area and community resources in Liverpool.
