Job description

Do you have experience working with children with social, emotional and mental health challenges?

Have you supported children outside of a school setting and now thinking about a career in education?

Are you passionate about ensuring every child is given equal opportunities to succeed?

Teaching Personnel are looking for experienced individuals to support children with social, emotional and mental health difficulties within a classroom environment. We work with schools across the UK assisting them in finding quality educators who can enhance the lives of children in and out of education.

As well as supporting the schools we work with, we also invest in the learning and development of our educators; providing free courses, webinars and information packs to ensure you can grow and develop in your career whilst you work with us.

We are looking for applicants who…..

  • Have a strong understanding and knowledge of children’s mental health
  • Have a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and keeping children safe in education
  • Are patient and resilient with good skills in behaviour management
  • Are able to assist children in processing difficult emotions
  • Are willing to attend a trial to assess suitability for the role (where applicable)

 Teaching Personnel educators are:

  • Professional at all times
  • Pro-active and self-motivated
  • Up-to-date on their safeguarding training and knowledge with the ability to navigate every scenario effectively and appropriately
  • Punctual
  • Flexible and understanding
  • Organised and prepared

How it works:

  • All of our Educators have their own availability diary which can be updated by telephone, online or via our new Educator App
  • All Educators have an introduction meeting with their dedicated consultant when we discuss your skills, preferences and availability.
  • Once you are fully vetted for work, you will be contacted for bookings and available vacancies in line with your preferences, skills and availability; by telephone and/or through the educator app
  • In the meantime, you will have access to our Educator CPD Academy and exclusive webinars to assist you in every aspect of your role; from interview preparation to essential skills for the job. As well as this, you will have access to free safeguarding training alongside other free and heavily discounted courses.

Rate of pay is £12.90-£14.50 per hour depending on specifics within the role and applicant experience.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.

We undertake safeguarding checks on all workers in accordance with DfE statutory guidance ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ this may also include an online search as part of our due diligence on shortlisted applicants.
