Location: Blaenau Gwent, Caerphilly
Hours:
Monday to Friday 08:15am-15:00pm
Pay:
£14 per hour

Start date: Monday 6th January 2025 – school contract pending successful probation via Teaching Personnel.

A position has arisen within a behavioural base in a secondary school in the Caerphilly area and the school are seeking an individual that is fair but firm. The ideal candidate will have current or prior experience working with challenging behaviour and able to effectively remain calm in testing situations. You will be responsible for supporting pupils with additional and behavioural needs within their school work and wellbeing.

Details of the role:

  • Working closely with pupils aged 11-18 that have been isolated from their classes due to behaviour.
  • Keeping the pupils on track with their lesson plans.
  • Implement behaviour strategies set by the school and department.
  • Teach coping and self-regulation techniques.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff and other support staff within the department.

This is a challenging but rewarding role whereby you can assist in creating a positive difference on the lives of pupils struggling with their schooling day. A lot of pupils are disruptive as they’re struggling with the academic side of school and so you’d be a positive force to get them to re-engage and get the best results possible.

About you:

  • Strong with challenging behaviour and additional needs such as ADHD.
  • Confident and able to effectively communicate with different ages and abilities.
  • Team Teach/ De-escalation training or similar is highly desirable.
  • Able to commit to a full-time role during school term time.
  • Build strong relationships whilst maintaining a high level of respect amongst the department.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
