Do you have experience of supporting children with challenging behavioural needs?

Are you interested in becoming a flexible 1 to 1 support to children outside of mainstream schools?

At TP Tutors we have an exciting opportunity to help young children in Derby with behavioural support. We are looking for one to one tutors to help support children / young people with behaviour support and de-escalating challenging behaviour.

This tutor role involves:

  • Plan, create and teach engaging sessions based around the child’s needs, developing their knowledge in core subjects.
  • Working with children with potentially challenging behavioural needs and using different strategies to ensure their needs are met.
  • Track progress and plan next steps in learning.
  • Inspire children to achieve and keep them engaged ensuring they can access the learning.

The tutor roles are based in the Derbyshire area, which is easily accessible via car or public transport and has links with other towns nearby. If you are looking to add experience of working with children with challenging behaviour needs to your CV, then this role is ideal for you.

What are we looking for in a tutor?

  • Experience of working with children or young people.
  • Able to plan and deliver engaging sessions based around the needs of the learner.
  • Ability to develop effective behaviour management strategies and coping mechanisms.
  • Apply skills to raise children’s confidence within their learning.
  • Able to track progress and plan next steps in children’s learning towards their learning outcomes. SEN experience is desirable but not essential.

To be successful in your application, you must be able to provide evidence of this as skills and experience.

Please be aware that all applicants will be subject to background checks and will need a current DBS certificate (update service registered). Teaching Personnel can support your application should this be required.

Working hours are between Monday to Friday, 8.30am-3.30pm approximately, but you may be offered additional duties and responsibilities outside of these hours.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
