Teaching Assistant with SEMH Support

Location: Shoreham

Position: Full-Time Teaching Assistant 

Working Hours: 8.30am - 3.30pm (Monday to Friday) 

Salary: Competitive rate of £83.85 to £90 a day depending on experience

We are excited to invite applications for a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant primary school in Shoreham.

The primary school is a welcoming and inclusive educational environment where every child's well-being and academic success are at the forefront. They are committed to providing tailored support to students with SEMH requirements, ensuring they have the opportunity to flourish both academically and emotionally.

Position Overview:

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing essential support to students with SEMH needs. You will work closely with teachers and other staff members to create a nurturing and positive learning environment. Your responsibilities will include:

-          Assisting with the implementation of individualised education plans for students with SEMH needs.

-          Providing one-on-one and small group support to help students overcome academic challenges and develop social and emotional skills.

-          Collaborating with teachers to create and adapt classroom activities to cater to diverse learning needs.

-          Supporting students during lessons, helping them stay engaged and focused on their studies.

-          Promoting a safe and inclusive atmosphere where every student feels valued and supported.

-          Communicating effectively with parents and caregivers to provide updates on student progress and behaviour.

Qualifications and Skills:

To succeed in this role, you should possess:

-          Experience working with children, particularly those with SEMH requirements.

-          Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

-          Patience, empathy, and the ability to connect with and inspire young learners.

-          A proactive and positive attitude, with the ability to adapt to varying situations.

-          A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

-          Relevant qualifications or training in education, child development, or related fields (desirable but not essential).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
