Behaviour Mentor - Alternative Provision
Are you passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of young people who face challenges in mainstream education? We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Behaviour Mentor to join our team at an alternative provision school, supporting secondary students. This is a unique opportunity to work closely with young learners who need extra guidance, offering them the support they need to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group mentoring to students with behavioural, emotional, and social difficulties
- Build positive and trusting relationships with students to support their individual needs
- Develop and implement behaviour management strategies tailored to each student's situation
- Help students develop coping mechanisms, social skills, and strategies for managing their emotions and behaviour
- Assist in reintegrating students into mainstream education or preparing them for future learning opportunities
- Encourage education and learning in a positive way.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with young people with behavioural, emotional, and social challenges (experience in an alternative provision or PRU setting is advantageous)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- A calm, patient, and resilient approach to handling challenging situations.
- A passion for working with children and young people, helping them reach their full potential
- Ability to work collaboratively with other staff

Contract Type: Full-time
Salary: £380 - £420.00 per week

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
