Teaching Assistant
Location: Chepstow
Start Date: 13th January
Pay: From £77.40 per day
Hours: 8:30 am – 3:00 pm
Teaching Personnel is currently seeking a Teaching Assistant to work in a secondary school in Chepstow.
The primary responsibility of this role is to work 1:1 with a student with challenging behaviour. The pupil’s range in age from 11 to 16. This role involves building close relationships with pupils to help them thrive academically and socially.
As a Teaching Assistant, incorporating sports into daily activities will be a key component of the role. Activities may include football, tennis, rugby, gym work, and basketball, among others.

No previous experience is required, but a background in a similar environment or personal experience working with children or young people is highly valued.
Sports coaches or recent graduates with a sporting background are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Provide support, guidance, and advice to groups of children with challenging behaviours.
- Develop and implement behaviour management strategies aligned with school policies.
- Monitor and record students' progress, sharing regular feedback with parents, teachers, and other professionals.
- Attend meetings with parents, teachers, and professionals to discuss student progress.
Requirements
- Enhanced DBS clearance, registered on the update service (or willingness to apply).
- EWC registration (or willingness to apply).
- Ability to provide two recent references.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Safeguarding Level 2 (provided free of charge by Teaching Personnel).
Teaching Personnel will offer step-by-step guidance on the above requirements if needed.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
