Job description

Teaching Personnel are recruiting for a Behaviour Buddy to support children aged 11-16 who need additional help managing their behaviour in school. The pupils attend secondary school but work within the school's base for children with SEMH needs. It is vital for this role that you can build relationships quickly and maintain a non-judgemental mindset.

To be considered for this position, you must have experience handling challenging behaviours. While the role can be demanding, it's highly rewarding for the right person who wants to make a difference in young learners' lives.

In this role, you will join a large secondary school in the Newport area and support learners with challenging behaviours both in class and on a one-to-one basis.

Details:

  • Behaviour Buddy in a secondary school in Newport
  • Start date: February 2025
  • Salary: £83.85–£98 a day (dependent on experience)
  • Term time only
  • Contract initially until August 2025, with the potential to join the school on a permanent basis from September 2025

To be considered for the role of Behaviour Buddy you will:

  • Be available 5 days a week from 8:30–15:30 during school term time
  • Be able to adapt to challenging situations that can arise
  • Have previous experience supporting on a one-to-one basis
  • Experience of supporting challenging behaviour is essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
