Behaviour and ASD Teacher

Part time- Flexible

We are looking for Teachers to work in a local school that support pupils aged 7-19 with ASD and Behavioural needs. The ideal candidate will be able to work at a fast pace and be adaptable. Generally, in a class you will have support staff who support the pupils with more severe needs and assist in classroom activities.

Excellent behaviour management is essential and experience working in a SEN setting is advantageous and will give you a big head start in the role. The school follow the Welsh Curriculum so a good understanding of this is essential to success.

 

Responsibilities:

Experience: Ideally, you have experience working as a primary or secondary teacher supporting pupils with SEN. However, the school is willing to support your induction into SEN if you can demonstrate a passion for working with students with special educational needs.

Student Support: Work closely with a small group of pupils with special educational needs, providing direct, face-to-face support to those with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Learning Environment: Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and empowered to succeed.

 

Other things to consider:

Pay: Starting from £157.66 per day (as per the national framework for Wales).

Qualifications required: Degree with QTS, PGCE with QTS or equivalent for UK.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
